wtf omg sn33kz p34kz with blood on the dance floor
Admittedly, I have to look away to pay attention to the music because Dahvie’s hair distracts me too much to write anything coherent. There are so many colors and stripes and I wonder if there are clips or if they are glued in there? Then there’s the fact that at first I was really confused and convinced that the singer was a girl because of the lips and the possibility of his being a butch lesbian. I mean, the flannel.
Well Suck Me is a strong start to the rest of the ep with the three longer tracks (I.D.G.A.F., Looking Hot, Dangerous!, and It’s Happening) continuing in the same manner. Anyone who has listened to Blood on the Dance Floor before can quickly recognize the songs as following similar formats to their previous releases. Some of the samples in the tracks are relatively the same as previous releases and thematically Blood on the Dance Floor has some rhymes they just can’t seem to get out of their head (naughty and nurses are their thing but at least they’ve dropped the nurses and settled just for the naughty). Highlights of the album include It’s Happening’s assertion that “i’m about to kill a ho … i’m about to slap a slut”, Looking Hot, Dangerous!’s “i’ll throw a dildo in your grave / party up and start a rave” and gang vocal bridge, and lastly I.D.G.A.F.’s “i promise i’ll call again / please don’t turn lesbian / we’ll party until the end.” No one ever claimed they were deep but there is something refreshing about the offensively forward and yet creative nature of their songs.
Despite the ability to take them completely seriously, I still have to wonder if the title of the EP is supposed to be some kind of clever pun but I’m left feeling it’s more like the internet has left everyone with the inability to spell.
No, Blood on the Dance Floor is not meant to be taken seriously. Yet, one has to wonder if the title of the EP is supposed to be some kind of clever pun that I’m just not getting. Last I checked omfg sneaks peeked not peaked, but they could be referring to their libidos. Sadly, I have a feeling its simply diminished spelling capacity.
